Billing Policy

Patients are encouraged to settle their account prior to leaving the clinic. Some imaging studies attract a discount if the account is paid on the same day.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, cheque or cash and provide EFTPOS facilities at most sites to facilitate easy payment of accounts on the day. We can also lodge Medicare claims electronically, so that Medicare rebates are automatically sent to your nominated bank account.

Fees charged by Perth Radiological Clinic are consistent with providing a high quality diagnostic imaging service. The fees vary depending on the examination being performed, and sometimes on the number of tests performed. Patients are advised of the cost of their examination when making an appointment.

Most examinations performed at Perth Radiological Clinic attract a Medicare rebate. If your examination does not attract a Medicare rebate, our staff will inform you prior to your examination. The Medicare rebate represents what the Federal Government is prepared to contribute towards the cost of health services. For many imaging studies, the Medicare rebate is substantially less than the actual cost of providing the service and you will be asked to make a gap payment. The gap payment is the difference between the fee charged and the Medicare rebate. The size of the gap payment varies depending on the type of examination.

Pensioners and Healthcare card holders are bulk-billed for most Medicare rebateable examinations.

Patients who anticipate financial difficulty are asked to discuss their situation with their referring doctor or our local Accounts Staff.
